Products featured in reviews or recipes
Brands and PR companies often send me sample products and the more interesting ones may be featured in my recipes. Where I have created a recipe using something that was sent to me for free I will mention this in the blog post. I do not guarantee to write about every sample I am sent as this is increasingly impossible. See also my page on “PR queries”.
Restaurants and travel
The vast majority of these posts are the result of a personal visit paid for by myself. Where I have visited the same destination multiple times I will say so but otherwise you can assume my review is based on a single experience.
Occasionally I am fortunate enough to receive invitations to dine for free or receive free tickets to establishments. Where this is the case, I will clearly state my thanks to the establishment at the bottom of the post and you can be confident that this has no impact on my editorial opinion.
Sponsored posts
“Sponsored” posts would be those where payment has been received to guarantee publication of specific material i.e. text and images already created by the brand, to be included as content.
Such posts will be clearly labelled “This is a sponsored post” and will only be published after careful consideration.
Recipes
Around 80% of recipes on this blog are either my own creation or have been adapted in some way from elsewhere.
The wording of the directions will always be my own rather than a verbatim copy of the original. Where I am using a recipe previously published in a book I will say so, and point out any adaptions made. Unless otherwise stated, the recipe adapted will be from my personal copy of the book. If the book is a review copy sent by a publishing house, I will say so.
If I am using or adapting a recipe found elsewhere online, I will post a link to where it came from.
