I’ve just returned from another lovely trip to Norfolk. This time we stayed in Cley Next The Sea which is a beautiful, picturesque village on the North Norfolk Coast. Just a few snaps to show for now as I have just submitted a full review to the travel guide website Simon Seeks. It’ll be around ten days before I hear if I’ve been accepted to write for them so please keep your fingers crossed for me
As a quick reminder I wrote about Simon Seeks in more detail here.

What a peaceful place! Thanks for sharing those beautiful pictures with us!
Cheers,
Rosa
Oh I adore your dog! Used to have one just like her
Setters are such affectionate dogs
Love that you took the time to post the pictures. Looks like a beautiful place to visit.
Ooh I always enjoy your Norfolk posts – although they also always make me want to go on holiday! Have been to Holkham beach before – such a lovely relaxing place. Hope you had a lovely time
How funny – my wife, her mum and I were in Holt, only a few miles away, on Sunday and Monday. My mother-in-law lives in Norwich, and for years now, whenever we visit, I whine and complain that I’ve never seen the rest of Norfolk. Finally (probably just to shut me up) my wife booked a stay at Byford’s B&B in Holt, as a birthday treat, and Sunday lunch at The Pigs in Ridgefield.
If you’ve never been to either place, I recommend them highly. Especially The Pigs on Sunday. They have a Pudding Club. Try the gingerbread trifle. :-p
It amazes me how many good restaurants and pubs serving food there are in Norfolk, and how much emphasis is put on locally sourced food. Considering the quality of the prodice, it gladdens my heart, as well as my tummy. The seafood is so fresh that even cured or kippered herrings seem like they could swim away, and the quality of the cooking is getting better and more inventive.
Not to mention the real ales . . .
It certainly was a very peaceful and relaxing trip Rosa. Only problem is I wish I was still there! Glad you like the photos
Setters are lovely aren’t they. Our older one Eric died two years ago and I still miss him. We’re going to mate Murphy so hopefully we’ll be having another pup running around soon.
Helene Norfolk really is beautiful. Glad you enjoyed the photos.
I’m sorry I’ve made you want a holiday Lucy, although I’m already craving my next trip away!
Holkham is such a fabulous beach, even better in the low season when it’s quieter, so peaceful and relaxing.
We had an amazing time, thank you
Hi
I didn’t visit Holt this time around, but I have been before. They have an amazing farm shop there called Back to the Garden – if you haven’t visited you really need to on your next visit.
The Pigs in Ridgefield sounds fantastic, I’ll bookmark it for my (hopefully soon) next trip.
For great real ales there is a fabulous shop in Little Walsingham, a little off the beaten track but well worth hunting out.
Seafood, don’t get me started on the seafood, we always bring lots home for the freezer.
