Dearest Pistachio

in Chat

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be ever at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rain fall softly on your fields,
And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

It is with great sadness that I write this post, yesterday I found out that the wonderful Lorraine, known on her blog and on forums by the name Pistachio had died. She was an amazing lady who had great respect from all her forum friends, full of passion, strength, determination and kindness; for me she will always epitomise the Modigliani portrait seen above, which she always used as her forum avatar.

Please do take the time to visit her fabulous blog, Pistachio En La Cocina, it is a veritable treasure trove of recipes, a great credit to her and of course a great tribute to her memory.

I take solace in the fact that her passing was peaceful and that she had family close, she is now in a better place, no doubt keeping the angels well fed and most likely out of trouble too.

Lorraine will live on in the hearts of her friends forever, God Bless you my friend.

I love that blessing George, very appropriate. I too am glad that her illness was brief. I’m sure she’s looking down on us all now, keeping an eye on what we’re all cooking! She won’t be forgotten.

Beautiful tribute George.
Pistachio will be missed terribly, the Pantry won’t be the same without her.

That’s so true about the beautiful painting – It’ll always remind us of Pi, someone else said that yesterday on the pantry too.

And about keeping the angels well fed, I think I said that yesterday on the pantry too.

How nice that we all thought so much of Pi, she’ll be sorely missed.

I love the tribute you have given to our dearest Pi. She will never be forgotten and her blog is a lovely memory of her, which I’m sure I will visit often. What wonderful friendships we have all made which is all down to lovely people such as Pi.
She will be dearly missed, I just wish I had met her in person.

That is lovely George, I am sure cyberspace will be the poorer for her passing, but as you say her memory lives on in so many hearts.
