The ultimate Sunday brunch for me has to be bacon sarnies. Crisp fried bacon, fresh warm bread and either tomatoes, egg or mushrooms, equals pure bliss for me.

We don’t often indulge ourselves with food like this, not particularly healthy or good for the waistline but once in a while who cares about calories and grams of fat. I’m sure the occasional treat does more good than harm anyway.
Today my Dad decided to cook one for me, making brunch especially good. I mean things like this are always better if you don’t have to cook them yourself aren’t they.

The bread and the bacon were locally sourced and bought from our local Butchers. The tomatoes unfortunately from the supermarket, but with over sixty tomato plants growing in the greenhouse I’m sure we’ll be pretty much self sufficient later in the year, all we need is the sun and warmth to come.

George I totally agree with you, the occasional treat is good for you. Your bacon sarnie looks delish and I know a man (my hubby) who loves his bacon sarnies ;o)
